Condition Details / Information Notes
The proposed removal of the Norway Maple would result in the loss of a mature, prominent tree that makes a significant contribution to the local area's character and amenity. Its removal is, therefore, considered to be detrimental to public amenity.
Insufficient technical evidence has been provided to prove that the tree is causing structural damage or other harm that would justify its removal. The Council therefore believes that the issues raised can be managed through appropriate pruning rather than felling.
The proposed removal of the Norway Maple is contrary to Policy SWDP 25 of the South Worcestershire Development Plan, which seeks to protect landscape features that contribute to local character and amenity. The loss of this prominent tree would harm the area's established landscape character.
