The Purple-leaved Plum is a healthy, prominent tree that makes a positive contribution to the visual amenity of the area. Its removal is not supported, as no significant defects or decline have been identified to warrant such action.
The application lacks arboricultural evidence to demonstrate that the tree poses a safety risk. The issues cited, including minor dieback and a moderate lean, do not justify felling and could be appropriately managed through crown thinning and reduction.
